spring mood

...just about to finish for the weekend, been popping in and out of the studio all day inbetween trying to indulge in scanning all of the brochures and 'living' mags that I have been hoarding away as well as acting out my non-professional role of domestic goddess....which is quite hard when you have two girls under the age of 6 - thank goodness for face paints on a rainy day...here are some pics from the fauna collection to get you in the spring mood and every year I fall in love, all over again, with tulips...enjoy your weekend....

an angel at my table

...a little inspiration for your day....

...from an angel at my table...

...french floral note book would be perfect for as a guest book, the large bird cage mirror would be great to hang little table plan tags from so too would be the pearl light garland....you may have seen in a previous post (I am going back some months) that we produced a seating plan... where the table panels were placed onto an ornate framed mirror..thought the above would be perfect...

'mix the recipe'

.... I have been chatting to a couple of clients this week regarding the idea of mixing the colour palettes for their stationery. We do this quite alot, particularly if you are having trouble deciding between two collections or three or four colours. These images are from a previous wedding fair but I think they illustrate how you can be adventurous in mixing tones particularly when it comes to the dressing of your tables. A frequently used collection is the Vintage Rose (above) Vanilla for the day and Pewter for the evening and mixing Olive with Vanilla and French Blue using the stronger tones as the font colour....we always love to hear your ideas....so if you can't choose between collections or colours let us know so we can 'mix the recipe' a bit to produce something more personal for your day......

sunday sort out

...having a Sunday sort out and just found this in my clippings box. It's from Cosmo Bride magazine (the fauna collection) taken a couple of years ago. I love the mix of colour, I always think that the collections are at their best when you mix different tones and colours. I receive a fair few orders every year where clients have mixed the collections together, the Rose and Blossom collection works well if you are wanting to achieve a more eclectic mix especially for your reception...

green days

....it didn't dawn on me until late this afternoon just how 'green' the last 10 days had been - I don't mean from an environmental angle (although I do try to do my bit - honest!) but most orders and requests have been leaning towards the earthy tones...... funny how that happens.... however, the diary is forecasting a lift in colour for next week from raspberry fauna to cartmel fondant and camelia red...I have a little feeling that summer is coming......

linen, thread and a little bit of time

...you may have noticed that the site has been updated again this week. Here are a few more images, in detail, taken from the cotton and herb collection. A collage of stitch, layered ribbons, brush marks of watercolour, vintage cotton lace, fine striped hemp cords, linen and thread.
This collection will be developed and also selling through our on line 'paper store'. From April you will be able to buy just the covers only as well as table numbers and place cards. All ready for you to add your own inserts or write your guests names onto your reception cards...
